How to reach

The nearest railway station to reach Gangtok is New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station, a major junction located near Siliguri and well connected to most major cities across India. From NJP, Gangtok can be reached by road via a private taxi, a shared taxi, or a bus. The journey spans approximately 120 km via NH10 and typically takes around 4–5 hours. 

Bagdogra Airport (IXB) is a major hub serving North Bengal, Sikkim, and nearby regions, with frequent daily flights from major Indian cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Bengaluru via Indigo, Air India, and SpiceJet. The route stretches from Bagdogra to Gangtok which covers about 196 kilometres and it takes about 4.5 to 5 hours to travel by road. Full taxi hire charge to Gangtok is approximately Rs. 3000 to Rs. 4000. 

Gangtok is well connected by road to major cities across India. To reach Gangtok, you must first arrive at Siliguri (bus stand).
